Luncheon - Britanee Moreno, Teen Dating Violence Prevention

Speaker Bio:

Statistics show that 1.5 million high school girls and boys have been in an abusive relationship.

Our speaker, Britanee Moreno, will share information about the FLY (First Love Yourself) program, which includes Teen Dating Violence and Building Healthy Relationships.

Britanee has been employed as a Tribal Advocate & Regional Coordinator with Inter-Tribal Council of California, Inc., (ITCC), which is comprised of 50 tribes and tribal Native American organizations. She is assigned to domestic violence related matters and community outreach.  She presents the FLY program to reservation youth and to students in public schools.

The FLY program is targeted toward teenagers, ages 13 to 17, and features educational and hands-on presentations bringing empowerment to youth so that they may avoid the impact of dating violence.  The program is growing rapidly and so far has reached more than 500 teenagers.

Britanee was referred to us by Nilda Valmores, SIS Member and Executive Director of My Sister's House, who also works tirelessly on issues related to dating violence, domestic violence and human trafficking.

Please join us on November 16th to hear this compelling presentation!
