Edible Gardens Tour Sponsors
Soroptimist International Sacramento, Inc. (SIS) proudly announces sponsors of the 2013 Edible Gardens Tour.
Three sponsors are active SIS club members: President Vivienne La Cour, First VP Phyllis Hayashi, and Mary Kobane. Their sponsorship is a testimony of commitment to the organization, and its mission and goals. Similarly, Chamberlain Financial Planning and Wealth Management’s Sponsorship demonstrates corporate awareness of service clubs like Soroptimist that help agencies in the Sacramento community support women and children who need it the most. Each sponsor’s support enables us to move forward with this major fundraiser to support local agencies and charities.
Collective giving allows Soroptimist International Sacramento, Inc. (SIS) members make a more substantial difference in the local community than we would as individuals. Over the years, SIS has supported over 20 local charities and agencies. The club solicits applications annually. Then committee members review applications based on specific selection criteria. The agencies are carefully researched to ensure they meet the funding criteria. These are often small but important grassroots organizations that may not typically attract large scale funding. The funds raised this year will support Tubman House, a program of Waking the Village, which provides youthful, homeless parents and their children transitional housing and support services for 18 months. We could not provide Tubman House support without the selfless support of sponsors and our collective membership.
On behalf of the Edible Gardens Tour Planning Committee and Chair Susann Hadler, thanks to these sponsors for their generosity and support.
